Pandora Urabito
The Cutie with the Booty. Assistant for the Forum. Secretary to the Leveilleurs. An Au Ra banished from her people, who delved into the untested waters of alchemy to regain her control over her own Aether. Waters that turned the slim, graceful handmaiden-in-training into a woman with a figure that turned heads in any room she stood.
Origins
Originally from Sui-no-Sato, it was determined early in her life that Pandora lacked the simple ability to control, or even feel, her own Aether. A rare condition, and one that would ultimately ruin any chance the handmaiden-in-training would have of properly serving the Ruby Princess. While normally those with Pandora's issues were simply given other roles, whispers from the world above the waves gave the elders reason for concern. The Garlean occupation was in full swing, and the fear of her alienation within the city would inevitably bring them ruin. Thus, the elders of Sui-no-Sato decided to secretly break the city's history of non-communication, working to send Pandora off to Kugane and further beyond, and away from any possible Garlean influences within the Ruby Sea.
Elixirs and Debt
The coin sent alongside the Raen was enough to let her live. Enough to sustain her as she found a new life, while learning to earn her own livelihood. However, that was a tall task for a girl sent to live without the support she'd grown up with, whose only training was that which would be used to serve the Ruby Princess. Thus, with a mix of uncertainty and homesickness, more and more of the gil bestowed upon her was gifted to the Alchemy Guild. Members were intrigued by her condition. Giving her false promises of solutions. Elixirs and tinctures forced upon a naïve girl.Elixirs that, unfortunately, only exacerbated her conditions. The once thin figure changing with each tonic. Figure filling out. Hair bleaching white. Eyes turning a deep inky black. Only hints of her heritage left. Before long, the gil had simply run out. Every coin spent from her home, yet more promises made by the Alchemists. Promises that could only be funded with coin given from a handful of well-known creditors more than happy to lend to the young Au Ra.
Revelations
In recent days, one of Pandora's goals has been to try and learn more about her condition. Trying to solve the dilemma of her innate lack of control over her Aether, and possibly even gain slight control over it. However, part of her contracts with the Leveilleurs and the Forum forbid her from making any active steps towards 'fixing' her problem, without consent from those hired to study it.First and foremost, researchers were using her as a test for curing potion toxicity, though their few attempts had shown little progress. Pandora's body was, metaphorically, drenched in all manner of drugs and effects. Thankfully, without imbibing further cocktails similar to before, the Raen's body had reached a seemingly stable equilibrium. Unfortunately, said equilibrium was in a far, far weaker condition than it should be. This was made evident during the rush to the New World, where the frantic and overcrowded state of the Scholar's Harbor lead to a scuffle which injured the Raen. Fracturing her horns, and forcing her to spend time trying to adjust to their absence. This was only made more urgent when the normally resilient parts showed minimal progress in healing.Still, life moves on. Many are interested in aiding in the Raen's recovery, let alone exploring the oddities from her body's journey. All Pandora can do, for now, is keep moving forward. Living her life as best she can
